Take a position to a work party

What each group adopted, what would change it, and when it will look again. An adoption needs a review date and a condition that would change it, or it isn’t listed.

External adoptions: none yet. If a review date passes without the group confirming its adoption, the entry shows as lapsed. A group adopts by publishing its own adoption file where it keeps its records and pointing this page at it, so the group keeps its own record.

Where the group files go

Four tools in this family work on files that a group passes round. Today they connect in two pairs, and the two pairs do not read each other yet. In every one, a single person collects the files in their own browser; nothing is uploaded.

Arguing a question

  1. The Socratic Hearth (this site)Each person writes a position they could be talked out of.
  2. position file open-values-position
  3. The Work PartyOne person records what the group agreed; what would have changed each mind goes in what stayed open.
  4. agreement file, loaded back into the Work Party to revise it open-values-agreement

Ranking options by what a group values

  1. Your values fileEach person says how much each value matters to them, in Conscious Consuming or on its own page.
  2. values files open-values-passport
  3. Group valuesOne person adds up everyone’s values files and sees where the group agrees and where it splits.
  4. group file open-values-collective
  5. Shared planTurns the group file and a facts file into a plan with a reason on every line.

Not built The Work Party does not read the group file, and the shared plan does not read the agreement. A group that uses both pairs carries what one says into the other by hand.
